Sausage Meatballs

A recipe for a family Favourite

Feeds a family of 4

A packet of your favourite sausages (or use prepared sausage meat)

2 red onions

x2 tins of chopped tomatoes

Woodcrest Kitchen Tomato and Chilli Relish

Olive Oil

Pasta (allow approx. 60g of pasta per person)

Carefully slit the sausages with a sharp knife down the long side an remove the skin. Cut each sausage into bite sized pieces and roll into balls (or if you’re using sausage meat, divide into bite sized balls)

Lightly brown the sausage meatballs in a frying pan with a little olive oil and tip into a clean bowl; set aside.

Add the diced red onions to the now empty frying pan and slowly sauté to soften.

Return the sausage meatballs to the pan with the onions.

Add the chopped tomatoes, half a jar of Woodcrest Kitchen Tomato and Chilli Relish and simmer for 15 – 20 minutes.

Ensure the meatballs are piping hot before serving.

Serve over cooked pasta, adding a sprinkling of grated cheese and a few chopped cherry tomatoes if you wish!

Tip: To increase the vegetables in the meal add grated carrot and/or courgette!
